15 successful applicants will get to participate in an immersive 6-day study tour of outstanding international affairs events.

If you are beginning your career in international affairs — or are interested in pursuing one — and want to learn more about how Australia's foreign policy operates, this tour is for you!

AIIA VIC Young Professionals Study Tour to Canberra is a one of a kind event, designed for young professionals who are eager to engage and network with experts in international affairs and foreign policy. The tour provides the opportunity for insightful discussions on a range of topics with some of the country's top foreign policy experts, and offers an unparalleled opportunity for knowledge enrichment and networking. Such exposure will allow young professionals to build meaningful connections within the foreign policy landscape, fostering relationships that can shape their careers and open doors to new opportunities.

The Study Tour includes full access to AIIA's Annual National Conference​, Australia's leading event on Australian foreign policy. At the conference, you will hear from many distinguished guests who shape the nation's policies including ministers, academics, top government officials and industry leaders. The National Conference Masterclasses​, included as part of the Study Tour, allow participants to engage in intimate discussions with experts in the following areas:

• Multilateral Diplomacy and International Institutions
• Media and Public Diplomacy
• Disaster resilience and International Crisis Response
• International Business

After the National Conference, Study Tour participants will have exclusive bespoke access to embassy visits, iconic governmental institutions, and foreign policy roundtables.

• Participation in two 90-minute careers-focused Masterclasses (Sunday 12 November)
• Invitation to post-Masterclass evening networking Reception at the Embassy of Japan (Sunday 12 November)
• Participation in the full-day AIIA National Conference (Monday 13 November)
• Invitation to post-Conference Gala Dinner (Monday 13 November)
• Participation in exclusive Study Tour briefings and roundtables with top ministers and foreign policy officials, renowned scholars, and industry leaders (Tuesday 14⁠–Thursday 16 November)
• Participation in private tours (Saturday 11 and Wednesday 15 November)
• 5 nights of single occupancy accommodation at the Little National Hotel​

Please note that AIIA Victoria is unable to assist with transportation to and from Canberra. If you are successful in your application, you will have to organise transportation from Melbourne to Canberra at your own expense.
