AIIA Victoria is accepting applications for its Young Professionals Study Tour to Canberra 2024

15 successful applicants will get to participate in an immersive 5-day study tour of outstanding international affairs events.

If you are beginning your career in international affairs — or are interested in pursuing one — and want to learn more about how Australia's foreign policy operates, this tour is for you!

AIIA VIC Young Professionals Study Tour to Canberra is a one of a kind event, designed for young professionals who are eager to engage and network with experts in international affairs and foreign policy. The tour provides the opportunity for insightful discussions on a range of topics with some of the country's top foreign policy experts, and offers an unparalleled opportunity for knowledge enrichment and networking. Such exposure will allow young professionals to build meaningful connections within the foreign policy landscape, fostering relationships that can shape their careers and open doors to new opportunities.

The Study Tour includes FULL ACCESS, at a significantly reduced rate, to the AIIA's Annual National Conference​, Australia's leading event on Australian foreign policy. At the conference, you will hear from many distinguished guests who shape the nation's policies including ministers, academics, top government officials and industry leaders. The National Conference Masterclasses​, included as part of the Study Tour, allow participants to engage in intimate discussions with experts.

After the National Conference, Study Tour participants will have exclusive bespoke access to embassy visits, iconic governmental institutions, and foreign policy roundtables.

The Study Tour ticket includes:

• Participation in two 90-minute careers-focused Masterclasses ​(Sunday 10 November)
• Invitation to the post-Masterclass evening Networking Reception – location TBC (Sunday 10 November)
• Participation in the full-day AIIA National Conference (Monday 11 November)
• Invitation to the post-Conference Gala Dinner (Monday 11 November)
• Access to AIIA National President's Breakfast​ (Tuesday 12 November)
• Participation in exclusive Study Tour briefings and roundtables with top ministers and foreign policy officials, renowned scholars, and industry leaders, and private tours (Tuesday 12⁠–Thursday 16 November [morning])
• 4 nights of single occupancy accommodation at Forrest Hotel and Apartments​.

Student/Young Professional Non-Member $1,500

Please note that AIIA Victoria is unable to assist with transportation to and from Canberra. If you are successful in your application, you will have to organise transportation from Melbourne to Canberra at your own expense. Options will be discussed in our upcoming Young Professionals Study Tour to Canberra 2024 Information Session (see the details below).
