Maddie Crothers

Maddie has recently returned from a 19-month New Colombo Plan Scholarship program based in Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. She studied at Universitas Gadjah Mada, completed Indonesian and Thai language training and four internships in the region.

She has worked with various organisations including the United Nations Economic Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Save the Children, Victorian Parliament, TetraTech and Non-Governmental Organisations. Her interests include International Development, Social Protection, Sustainable Tourism, Human Resource Development and Asian and Pacific Studies. Maddie currently volunteers in projects and operations with the Nusa Tenggara Association and communications with the Australia-Indonesia Youth Association. 

She holds a Bachelor of International Studies (Global Scholar), majoring in International Relations and a Diploma of Indonesian from Deakin University, Geelong. Maddie is the recipient of several scholarships including the George Alexander Foundation Scholarship and Deakin Young Influencer Award.

Megan Kaiser

Megan Kaiser

Megan has recently completed her 12-month New Colombo Plan Scholarship program abroad in Cambodia. Whilst abroad Megan completed the final semester of her Bachelor of International Studies at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, which largely focused on ASEAN and the diplomacy of small states. She also undertook Khmer language study and internships with the Cambodian Centre for Human Rights, Good Return, and the Integral Cooperation of Cambodia. During this time, she developed her understanding of issues relating to access to finance and the unique challenges facing ethnic minority groups in north-eastern Cambodia. 
 
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and International Studies with majors in Accounting and International Relations from Deakin University, Geelong. Megan has also previously worked as the Office Manager of AIIA Victoria, as part of the finance team at Barwon Water, as an undergraduate at a mid-tier accounting firm in Geelong, and is currently a volunteer on the Finance and Audit Committee of Plan International Australia.
