Grace is the Diplomacy Project Coordinator at Asialink and was recently listed as a ‘Young Women to Watch in International Affairs’ for 2023. In her role at Asialink, Grace works to strengthen Australia’s relationships across Asia by developing strong and sustainable networks of leaders, government officials, academics and experts that can discuss solutions to regional issues. Grace holds a Master of Development Studies from the University of Melbourne, is the Project Manager of the Australia-Vietnam Leadership Dialogue, and was a New Colombo Plan Fellow in 2018. As reflected by her trajectory, Grace is passionate about building and fortifying Australia's relationships in the Indo-Pacific.
Jenny is a 2022 New Colombo Plan Scholar for China and a Law Graduate at King & Wood Mallesons. As part of her NCP Program, she interned at the KWM Singapore office and completed her final semester of her Bachelor of Laws/Commerce degrees from Monash University on exchange in Taiwan due to travel restrictions to China. Before her travels, she worked as a paralegal at finance and investment firm Wingate, and enjoyed teaching piano and performing in community musical theatre.
Gavin is currently completing his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Biomedical Science at Monash University. He is a youth activist with a wide range of experience in First Nations justice, climate and human rights, as well as refugee aid. As a 2023 NCP scholar, Gavin will be heading to Hong Kong to study comparative constitutional law and international human rights law, before travelling to the Pacific to work in the climate justice and Indigenous rights field.
Luka is currently studying a Master of Laws (LLM) at King’s College London, where he is the General LLM Pathway Assistant at the Dickson Poon School of Law and a member of the Climate Action Network. Previously, he studied a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing Science) at Monash University, where he assumed various student leadership positions as a Law Ambassador, Access Monash Mentor, and Peer Mentor. During his studies, Luka has volunteered as a paralegal at the Windrush Justice Clinic, Open Justice Project Student Panel, and Anti-Death Penalty Clinic.
Emily is a former Policy Adviser at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Victoria) within the Economic Development and International Branch. She has also undertaken roles with the Department of Education and Training, and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Additionally, Emily has leant her expertise with LIC Media Group China as a Production Manager, and was the Australia-China Youth Association’s Education Director for Beijing.
Sedef is a penultimate year student studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree at Victoria University and has obtained an Undergraduate Certificate of Mental Health from Monash University (2021). As the former Chairperson for the Students as Partners initiative at VU, she has assisted in creating a collaborative environment where students and staff can work together for the betterment of the student experience. She now works as a LEAD Program Facilitator, delivering leadership workshops, as well as providing administrative support to college teams at RMIT University. Sedef is also the recipient of the Raj Kannan Leadership Scholarship and the Ignite Scholarship.
James is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Finance at Monash University. He has worked as Project Consultant and Team Leader at 180 Degrees Consulting Monash, a student-led volunteer consultancy that lends expertise in sustainable solution-building and corporate social impact. In 2018, he studied at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India. James takes particular interest in the globalisation of commerce, and in how organisations are addressing the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging markets and new technologies.
