Ben Lannan is a co-founder and the business analysis and regulatory compliance lead of ESGmachina, a data led approach to supply chain risk and opportunity analysis built from the ground up with agentic AI. A former partner at a Big Four firm, Ben leads ESGmachina’s supply chain governance and reporting services specialising in regulatory compliance, international trade and taxation and process improvement. Ben also has a passion for improving mental health and equitable access to support and care. He sits on the boards of Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA), Orygen Limited and Orygen Youth Mental Health Foundation.
Professor Gabriele Suder is the Australia-based Global Value Chain expert and Senior Research Fellow at the government-related Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) ’s Institute of Developing Economies. With her team, she offers over 20 years of insights into GVC trends and their most critical matters, with major contributions made regularly to the World Trade Organisation, and also to United Nations, OECD and local governments. Gabriele is an Honorary Professor at 3 Australian universities, and most recently served as Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Federation University Australia, with focus on lifelong learning. Her professional background is comprehensive and includes also award-winning work in industry, including at Gartner Inc, the world-leading Research & Advisory multinational so well known for its Magic Quadrant and Hype-Cycles work. There, she was leading its International CEO Forum supporting international and local investment growth for universities and multinationals operating in Australia, New Zealand and across APAC. This added to her contribution to University of Melbourne, leading the whole-of-university International Relations and partnerships portfolio worldwide – amongst other, by digitalizing its partnership performance to better measure value-added and negotiating multi-million contracts with local and international industry and institutional partners to better manage supply and demand.
George Cross leads technology supply risk policy at the Department of Home Affairs. His section is developing a framework to support the Australian Government’s management of vendors of concern and foreign ownership, control or influence risks in technology. Immediately prior to this role, George was responsible for the Australian Government’s data security policy. In this position, George led a review into foreign interference through social media and nationwide consultation on data security policies to support the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy. George serves as a Lieutenant in the Royal Australian Navy Reserves, focusing on information warfare and public relations and has previously worked as a public affairs officer for the Department of Home Affairs.
Dr William Stoltz (moderator) is a former Australian national security official and security scholar. He currently serves on the Council of AIIA Victoria. He is a Lecturer & Expert Associate at the ANU's National Security College and a Senior Manager at Australia's leading cyber security firm, CyberCX.
